Introducing Taya: Bringing Heart and Experience to PCVU

Taya brings a wide range of professional experience and a deep personal commitment to her work. From operations management to birth work to nonprofit advocacy, her path has been grounded in a desire to help people navigate systems, access support, and feel empowered in their choices.

Originally from the Portland area, Taya has spent the past several years living in rural Oregon with her family and a lively crew of animals- including horses, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. While she still considers herself a city girl at heart, she’s embraced the beauty and quiet of life outside the city.

Her journey into civic engagement and social justice has been shaped by both lived experience and intentional reflection. “There’s so much unfairness in the world,” she says. “Being able to do work that helps people feel seen, supported, and connected, that’s more than a job to me. It’s something I deeply believe in.”

At PCVU, Taya is excited to support the organization’s programs and operations while collaborating with others who are just as fired up to build a more just and equitable world. She brings not only skill and experience, but a grounded, compassionate perspective that reflects the heart of this work.

We’re excited to have her on the team: welcome, Taya!
