This November, Washington voters will decide three statewide initiatives that could have lasting consequences for our schools, our communities, and the public services we rely on.
Pacific County Voices Uniting recommends voting NO on I-001, I-638 and I-645.

VOTE NO ON I-001
Protect Vulnerable Students
I-001 would roll back safeguards that protect students’ sensitive information and privacy, potentially putting young people experiencing abuse or unsafe situations at greater risk. Washington parents already have extensive rights to access their children’s school records, curriculum and academic information.
No young person should be put in danger by the very systems meant to keep them safe.

VOTE NO ON I-638
Keep Invasive Verification Out of School Sports
I-638 would require students who want to participate in girls’ school sports to provide medical verification of their sex, based on reproductive anatomy, genetics or naturally occurring testosterone levels.
Girls should not have to prove their sex through medical verification just to play school sports.

VOTE NO ON I-645
Protect Funding for Essential Services
I-645 would repeal Washington’s new tax on annual individual income above $1 million. State fiscal analysts estimate that repeal would mean $11.4 billion less in state revenue through 2031, reducing funding available for K–12 schools, higher education, health care and other essential services.
Our communities can’t afford to lose billions in funding so Washington’s highest earners can pay less.
Ballot initiatives can change our communities in lasting ways. PCVU takes a position when the people, protections and public services our communities depend on are at stake.
