Reflecting on the Campaign for Proposition No. 1: A Step Forward in Community Unity

At Pacific County Voices Uniting (PCVU), we want to take a moment to share our deep appreciation for the incredible efforts of our canvassers, volunteers, and supporters who gave their time, energy, and hearts to the campaign for Proposition No. 1.

While the bond measure did not pass, we remain proud and deeply encouraged by what this campaign represented: a collective effort to advocate for something we all deserve- accessible, quality healthcare in our own community.

This campaign was never just about a facility. It was about the people inside it. It was about the nurses who care for our elders, the doctors who respond in emergencies, the families who deserve peace of mind knowing care is close to home. It was about the future of Pacific County; our children, our neighbors, our elders and what it means to invest in their well-being.

We also know that talking about bonds and taxes is never easy. But through hundreds of conversations, doorsteps visited, and stories shared, we were reminded that our community cares deeply about fairness, about health, and about each other. Those conversations alone were a win, and they will continue to shape how we move forward.

At PCVU, we remain committed to supporting efforts that strengthen the health and well-being of Pacific County. Whether that means advocating for access to care, highlighting community wellness initiatives, or simply listening to what matters most to our neighbors, we will continue to be part of the conversation and the movement toward a healthier, more connected community.

So thank you to our canvassers, our supporters, our healthcare workers, and every resident who engaged with this effort. Whether you voted for or against the bond, your voice matters. This is how democracy works, and it is how change begins.

We look forward to what comes next, and we will be right here, listening, organizing, and working toward a future that serves us all.

Reflexiones sobre la Campaña para la Proposición No. 1: Un Paso Adelante en la Unidad Comunitaria

En Pacific County Voices Uniting (PCVU), queremos tomar un momento para expresar nuestra profunda gratitud por los increíbles esfuerzos de nuestros canvassers, voluntarios y partidarios que dedicaron su tiempo, energía y corazón a la campaña para la Proposición No. 1.

Aunque la medida de bonos no pasó, seguimos orgullosos y profundamente animados por lo que esta campaña representó: un esfuerzo colectivo para abogar por algo que todos merecemos—cuidado de salud accesible y de calidad en nuestra propia comunidad.

Esta campaña nunca fue solo sobre un edificio. Se trataba de las personas dentro de él. Se trataba de las enfermeras que cuidan a nuestros mayores, de los doctores que responden en emergencias, de las familias que merecen tranquilidad sabiendo que la atención está cerca de casa. Se trataba del futuro de Pacific County; nuestros hijos, nuestros vecinos, nuestros mayores y lo que significa invertir en su bienestar.

También sabemos que hablar de bonos y impuestos nunca es fácil. Pero a través de cientos de conversaciones, visitas a puertas y historias compartidas, nos recordaron que nuestra comunidad se preocupa profundamente por la justicia, por la salud y por los demás. Esas conversaciones por sí solas fueron una victoria, y seguirán moldeando cómo avanzamos.

En PCVU, seguimos comprometidos a apoyar esfuerzos que fortalezcan la salud y el bienestar de Pacific County. Ya sea abogando por el acceso a la atención médica, destacando iniciativas de bienestar comunitario, o simplemente escuchando lo que más importa a nuestros vecinos, seguiremos siendo parte de la conversación y del movimiento hacia una comunidad más saludable y conectada.

Así que gracias a nuestros canvassers, partidarios, trabajadores de la salud y a cada residente que se involucró en este esfuerzo. Ya hayas votado a favor o en contra del bono, tu voz importa. Así funciona la democracia, y así es como comienza el cambio.

Estamos ansiosos por lo que viene a continuación, y estaremos aquí, escuchando, organizando y trabajando hacia un futuro que nos sirva a todos.
